when the media is focusing on 9/11, we remember the 2,700 workers killed on the job 25 years ago.

Rarely do we hear the media mention that these workers and their families were killed on the job.For some alternate news, here is the most recent pod cast from our friends at IWC where Tebasum speaks with Harry Goslin, the president of the union at the WSIB.

While we are at a trade war with the Trump government, workers (and injured workers) in the USA are also under attack. And we know that many corporations operating in Canada are head quartered in the US and are driving these changes wherever they operate.

Here’s a great letter from Richard Fink and Pamela Hughes-Ford to the CEO of the WSIB about the office closures and staff cuts.

As some of you know, back in the 1960s and 1970s, almost all WCB services were centralized in downtown Toronto. 

A major priority for literally 50 years has been decentralizing WCB services especially through well resourced regional offices. 

This meant that the people dealing with injured workers and employers were much more likely to know the local conditions, industries and occupations. 

We are seeing a major retrenchment now, with offices that have existed for many years being shut down or drastically reduced.Please do what you can to push back against  this.
